We don't rank businesses on SearchLocal, and we don't have reviews yet, so this isn't a "best pizza" list. Nobody can honestly crown one without eating at every pizzeria in the county. What we can do is tell you what makes each place different, so you can choose the one that fits your night.
The biggest difference between these three is the oven. That affects the crust more than almost anything else on the menu.

Urban Coalhouse Pizza & Bar, Brick
Urban Coalhouse bakes in a coal-fired oven, which its website puts at around 800 degrees. Coal ovens run hotter than most pizzeria ovens, so pies bake fast and the crust usually comes out charred and blistered in spots. If you like a little char, this is the style to try. The same oven roasts their wings.
It's the only one of the three with a full bar: craft beer on tap that changes weekly, wine, cocktails and house-made sangria. The Brick restaurant on Route 70 is one of three Urban Coalhouse locations; the others are in Hoboken and Red Bank. They run weekly dine-in specials and take catering orders and private event bookings.
Good to know: their website doesn't list hours for the Brick location, so call before you go.
Solo Bella Brick Oven Bistro, Jackson
Solo Bella is a brick oven bistro on Chandler Road. A brick oven holds heat in its thick walls and floor, which cooks the base evenly. Pizza is the centerpiece, but the menu also has appetizers, Italian entrées and desserts, so it works when not everyone at the table wants pizza.
It has the most ways to eat of the three: dine-in, pickup, delivery through DoorDash and Grubhub, a catering menu, and a separate menu for parties held at the restaurant.
Good to know: Solo Bella is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and closed Monday and Tuesday. It also closes earliest of the three, so plan dinner accordingly.
Rosato's Pub & Pizzeria, Toms River
Rosato's is a pub and pizzeria on Mule Road that has been open since 2013. The menu mixes pizza with traditional Italian dishes, from old-world classics to newer plates.
It's the easy pick when you're not sure what day it is: Rosato's posts the same hours every day of the week, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It also offers delivery and catering.
Which one, then?
- You want char and a drink: Urban Coalhouse, for the coal oven and the bar.
- Mixed group, or a party: Solo Bella, for the full Italian menu and an in-house party menu.
- It's Monday or Tuesday: Rosato's is open every day. Solo Bella isn't, and Urban Coalhouse doesn't publish its hours.
- Feeding an office or a team: all three cater, so go with whichever is closest.
